Maharashtra State Board’s HSC exam is scheduled to begin on February 21 and the SSC exam will begin on March 1.
There is a major relief for lakhs of students appearing for the MSBSHSE Class 10 and 12 exams this year. In light of cases of cheating and an instance of a question paper going viral on social media last year, the board has clarified that the question paper will not be distributed 10 minutes in advance of the exam, as it had previously announced. In order to benefit students, these 10 minutes will now be given at the end of the exam as scheduled.
Earlier students were given an additional ten minutes before the scheduled time of the beginning of the paper. But after several instances of images of question papers going viral, the Maharashtra State Board declared discontinuation of the practice.
According to a circular issued by MSBSHSE secretary Anuradha Oak, “Some instances of cheating were reported in 2022, and a question paper went viral on social media before the actual exam began. Due to this, the practice of distributing papers 10 minutes before the scheduled time has been discontinued. To benefit students, these 10 minutes will now be given at the end of the exam.”
Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has clarified that, as announced earlier, question papers will not be distributed 10 minutes before the start of the exam this year in a major relief for lakhs of students appearing in the Class 10 and 12 exams. This is a result of cheating cases and a question paper that went viral on social media last year.
Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education issued a circular Wednesday stating, “There will be two slots, one starting at 11 am and one at 3 pm.” Both slots will receive an extra ten minutes after the scheduled end time of papers based on students’ demands and benefits.”
30 minutes before the exam time, students must enter the exam hall. For the 11 am paper, students should be seated by 10.30 am, while for the 3 pm paper, they should be seated by 2.30 pm. The exams will start at the scheduled time, but will last ten minutes longer – the 11 am slot will end at 2.10 pm, rather than 2 pm; and the 3 pm slot will end at 6.10 pm instead of 6 pm.
Manoj S. Nayak, a very well-known educationist and the director of Nayak’s Tutorials, offers valuable advice to all students who are appearing for the Maharashtra SSC or HSC Board exams in the 10th and 12th grades on how students can maximise from these extra 10 minutes. Manoj S. Nayak offer his valuable inputs and says that these aren’t just 10 minutes; they’re 10 minutes extra over and above the allotted time. He goes on to say that it’s like getting to bat 21 overs in a T20 match. He adds that it is certainly a blessing for the students. As there is now more time for students to gather their thoughts and cause less stress. You must think twice before you attempt objective questions. It is especially important not to rush in language papers for essays and writing skills. He also suggests that that now you have more time for you to review the papers, so you don’t need to hurry.
As a student, you can maximize your chances of doing well in exams and achieving your best academic goals.
Stay confident and believe in your abilities.
