The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a warning to medical aspirants about a fake notice spreading on social media. This false information claims that new medical colleges will be established for the academic year 2024-25.

The NMC wants to clear up any confusion. They have only published a list of applications that have been reviewed by the Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB). This list does not mean that all 113 colleges mentioned have been approved. The final decisions, which could be either approval or disapproval, will be posted on the NMC’s website soon.

The NMC’s notification states: “Some fake news is being spread in the media, saying that the MARB has approved 113 new medical colleges for 2024-25. This is not true.”

They further clarified: “Our notice from July 6, 2024, only shows the applications reviewed by MARB. This does not mean that all 113 applications are approved. The decisions could be approvals or disapprovals and have been communicated to the respective medical institutions. We will upload these decisions on our website soon.”

The NMC emphasizes that they are committed to transparency. They urge students and others to trust only the information on the official NMC website. In light of this, everyone is advised to ignore any misleading news in the media.
